About the Journal

THORAC (Thoracic Cancer Journal) is dedicated to publishing clinical and experimental research in the field of thoracic oncology. As the official journal of the Portuguese Lung Cancer Study Group (Grupo de Estudos de Cancro do Pulmão - GECP), it serves as a vital platform for advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration within the thoracic oncology community.

The journal features a diverse range of content, including original research articles, comprehensive reviews, case series, case reports, visual highlights in thoracic oncology, editorials, letters to the editor, clinical guidelines, consensus statements, and thought-provoking perspectives—all aimed at enhancing clinical practice and patient care.

Renamed THORAC in 2024, the journal builds on the legacy of the Revista do Grupo de Estudos Cancro do Pulmão, which was first published in 2014. Now published exclusively in English, it is freely accessible online ensuring global dissemination of its valuable content.

THORAC is a rigorously peer-reviewed, open-access journal published biannually. The content and opinions presented within are solely those of the authors, and all published materials are the property of THORAC. Reproduction, in part or in full, requires prior authorization from the editors.

By bridging cutting-edge research and clinical expertise, THORAC continues to uphold GECP’s mission of advancing excellence in thoracic oncology for the benefit of the medical community.
